 - For the past 6 years I have tried and failed at getting into shape on my own.  I joined Snap Fitness in the Summer of 2007 shortly after they opened.  But no matter how hard I tried, I could never sustain a routine.  Last fall I had surgery to repair ruptured ligaments in my ankle.  One reason that made it tough was the low back pain that I feel was caused by my ankle (my doctor did too).  Once cleared by the doctor, I started working out again.  I did it on my own for close to 3 months.  While I was going regularly, I was not making any progress.  I was on the verge of giving up again.

One morning in the gym, I asked Debbie if she could help me.  We talked for about 20 minutes and I got a feel for her philosophy, personality and overall knowledge.  In a 20 minute conversation, she gave me enough information to change up my routine.  After the second day of changing up my routine, I drove to work with more energy than I have felt in a very long time.  It felt like I drank a 6 pack of Diet Coke and was flying on caffeine, but it was just exercise and the right breakfast that did it.

I've been working with Debbie for almost 3 months now.  After 3 months on my own, I lost 9 pounds.  But the 3 months with Debbie I've lost almost 20!  While weight isn't a true measurement because you're building muscle at the same time.  The one thing I can say is my body moves much easier, I don't tire as easy and I'm getting more and more active as time goes on.  It's not very often when one human being can influence another to change their lifestyle.  Debbie was able to help me change my life.  She has a positive and encouraging attitude.  If I got off track a little bit she was there with some positive motivation that helped me get back on track.  I've learned so much about not only how to work the body to get the best results, but she is a huge help when it comes to changing up your diet.  While My Plate helped me a lot, Debbie provided a lot of extra knowledge as she reviewed the food journal and offered alternatives to some of the things I was eating.

When people are as out of shape as I was it is very difficult to ask for help.  The thought of working with a trainer can be intimidating.  DO NOT let that stop you

from contacting Debbie.  She genuinely wants to see people in the best shape they can be and will guide you down that path as far as you are willing to take it.

As a menopausal woman, I wanted to feel better, protect my joints, and reduce my cholesterol.  I had no illusions of becoming an athlete (I’m in shape; round is a shape) and was so pleased to find that Debbie supported my goals – adding in some challenges, but ones that were attainable for me.  After a year and a half, I feel better than I have in decades, my muscles are strong, and recently had a young man bump into my backside and comment, “You must be working out!”  What a compliment to Debbie’s work!  My cholesterol is down 50 points and I’m off anti-hypertensive medicine.  My only complaint is that Debbie is maddeningly right – working on my abs for some reason has helped my balance, icing my joints make them feel better, and eating small meals all day has reduced cravings for sugar and salt.  I tell everyone I know how much she has improved my life!  Janet, PhD, RN

I have been training with Debbie for about a year. When I started going, I was feeling overweight, fatigued and self conscious about going to the gym. Debbie  provided me a place where I feel comfortable and can go at my convenience. I was hesitant to join the boot camp classes with Debbie because I was worried I would be judged and it would be too hard. Thanks to Debbie's reassurance I tried it and loved it. Debbie is encouraging and supportive. She has motivated me to keep going no matter what. Debbie has provided valuable information on how to work out and a good nutrition plan. During this time I have noticed a change in my overall strength and fitness level. I am working towards weight loss goals and building on the foundation that Debbie has provided. I feel so much better about myself after working out. I highly recommend the classes and personal training provided by Debbie.

I want to thank you for “finally” getting me on track. It’s been a struggle for me to get in the number of workouts each week that I should be doing, but I am finally feeling the difference in my body and my mental attitude, when I workout on a regular basis. I have to admit, it took me a while before I truly felt the difference, and it was a struggle for me to mentally get charged up to come in and workout. However, all of a sudden, I am actually looking forward to coming in and participating in as many bootcamps as I can get in, each week. I really like the scheduled bootcamps, as they seem to help keep me on track. In addition, I like the camaraderie of the participants, who have provided me support and inspiration. I have a long way to go, but it gets easier every day, and I know I am doing something good for my body and mind.

I have been seeing Debbie for 6 months and I have been going to Boot Camp  3 to 4 days a week for 5 months, and have lost 38lbs. but I have gained more fitness experience and knowledge from Debbie than I could have ever dreamed about.  She has introduced me to a whole new world and a new me.  I am 44 yrs old and I feel great, I am in my best physical shape I have ever been in and I owe it to Debbie, for sharing her knowledge, being so motivating, encouraging, and most of all, supporting me and pushing me to do and be the best I can be.  I use to workout, on and off and do all the diet crazes that are out there, but this time is different I finally understand how to really workout and get results, and with that being said I am hooked on Boot Camp with Debbie, and the friends I have made.  I feel I have found a new me and couldn't be more mentally happier and physically fit, and again "THANKS DEBBIE"  for providing this opportunity.

Through my private sessions with Debbie I have learned so much about the way to pair exercises in order to make my time in the gym highly efficient. Debbie has designed workouts that are challenging and keep me interested. She motivates me to want to go to the gym.  Now I can do 10 three sets of 15 real pushups!  I have increased my muscle tone and I actually like my legs! Now I want to do squats and lunges because Debbie has taught me how to do them properly and how to incorporate them into my running routine.  I feel proud when I complete one of her workouts. I looked at my arm the other day and I saw my bicep!  I am training for my second half marathon and I feel so much stronger when I run.  It’s amazing how I feel inside because of Debbie’s dedication to me!

Mentally, I feel like I will only continue to get stronger and try new physical activities.  Debbie is an incredibly motivating person.  Because of her words of encouragement and her willingness to send workouts to me, I want to keep going to the gym.  I have realized that aging is not inevitable.
